Operons have been defined by a combination of tiling array data and RNA-seq to determine the RNA boundaries, resulting in a list of "reference operons". These were further analyzed using co-expression data from microarray and tiling array experiments and thus subdivided in putative suboperons. Bicistronic operons were split if the genes showed a correlation below 0.6. Operons with 3 or more members are further subdivided by applying the algorithm PAM (Partitioning Around Medoids) to the dissimilarity matrix. The link to the Genome Browser allows to visualize these gene clusters and see if the correspond to predicted promoters and terminators.
